Summary
Your content stays on your computer. Musa TTS generates speech and clones voices locally. The text you type, the recordings you use for cloning, and the audio you create are not sent to us.
We only process the information needed to run your account, sell and activate licenses, and answer your questions. We do not sell personal information.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how Musa TTS (“Musa TTS”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use the Musa TTS desktop application (the “App”), the website at musatts.com (the “Website”), and related services such as licensing, support and the affiliate program (together, the “Services”). Musa TTS is the controller of the personal information described here.
2. The desktop app
2.1 What stays on your device
The following is processed only on your own computer and is never transmitted to us:
- Text and scripts you enter or import
- Audio you generate, and your generation history
- Reference recordings you use for Voice Clone, Voice Clone Pro or Audio Clone, and the voices you save
- Voice blends, pronunciation lexicon entries, podcast projects and app settings
- Your local API key and API server settings
The App does not send us analytics about which features you use or how much you generate.
2.2 License activation
When you activate, validate or deactivate a paid license, the App connects to our license server and sends:
- Your license key
- A device identifier — a one-way hash generated from your computer, which cannot be used to recover your hardware details
- Your computer’s name and operating system, so you can recognise and manage your devices in your dashboard
- Your IP address, which is visible to any server you connect to
We use this only to enforce the device limit of your plan and to show your activated devices in your account.
2.3 Model downloads
Optional voice-cloning language models and preset voices are downloaded from Hugging Face, a third-party file host. When you download them, Hugging Face receives your IP address and standard request information under its own privacy policy. No personal content is uploaded.
2.4 Optional Groq transcription
The Voice Store can automatically transcribe reference recordings using Groq’s speech-to-text service. This feature is off unless you add your own Groq API key. When enabled, the selected recording is sent directly from your computer to Groq under your own Groq account and Groq’s terms. We never receive the recording, the transcript or your Groq key.
2.5 Local API
The built-in API server listens only on your own computer (localhost). Requests to it are handled locally and are not relayed to us.
3. Our website and account
3.1 Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored as a secure hash) when you register.
- Download requests: your email address, optional name and chosen platform when you download the App without an account.
- Purchases: the plan you buy, amounts, coupon or referral used, and transaction identifiers. Payments are handled by PayPal; we never receive or store your full card number.
- Support messages: anything you send us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp.
- Affiliate program: your payout method details and the information needed to pay commissions, if you join.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Server logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, used for security and troubleshooting.
- If you arrive through an affiliate link, the referring affiliate and the visit, so we can credit them for a sale.
- If enabled on the Website, analytics and advertising measurement (see Cookies).
4. How we use information
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Create and run your account, deliver downloads, issue and activate licenses | Performing our contract with you |
| Process payments, refunds and affiliate commissions; keep financial records | Contract; legal obligation |
| Answer support requests | Contract; legitimate interest |
| Send service messages (receipts, license and security notices) | Contract |
| Send product updates and tips after you download the App | Legitimate interest — you can opt out at any time |
| Prevent fraud, abuse and license misuse; secure our systems | Legitimate interest |
| Measure and improve the Website and our marketing | Consent where required by law; otherwise legitimate interest |
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the Services, and only as needed:
- PayPal — payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Hosting and email providers — to host the Website and license server and to send emails.
- Analytics and advertising providers (such as Google Analytics or Meta) — only if enabled on the Website.
- Affiliates — an affiliate who referred you can see that a referral converted and the commission earned, but not your payment details.
- Authorities or advisers — when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
- A successor — if Musa TTS is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, under the protections of this policy.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for money.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
- Essential: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
- Preferences: your light/dark theme choice, stored in your browser’s local storage.
- Referral: an affiliate cookie (typically 30 days) that records which partner referred you and any discount they offer.
- Analytics and advertising: if enabled, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel set cookies to measure visits and campaign performance.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent signing in and checkout.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and license records — for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed to honour lifetime licenses and resolve disputes.
- Transaction records — as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Download-request emails — until you opt out or ask us to delete them.
- Support messages — up to three years after the conversation ends.
- Server logs — usually no more than 90 days.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email support@musatts.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity.
- You can update your name and email in your dashboard.
- You can opt out of marketing emails by replying “unsubscribe” to any message or emailing us.
- You can deactivate devices from your dashboard at any time.
- Because your content lives on your computer, you can delete it yourself by removing it in the App or uninstalling the App.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and protections against automated abuse. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your license key private.
10. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including Pakistan, the United States and countries in the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services change. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email or in the App.
13. Contact us
